PRE-REQUISITES
Maturity, enthusiasm, ability to work independently. 101 Visual Arts is strongly recommended. Access to a digital camera with aperture priority mode is required. Please see Mr Soltero if you require advice on purchasing one.
CONTENT
Photography is central to the cross-over area of Art and multi-media. This includes -
- Original art using Digital photography
- Basic illustration, video
- Practical art skills
- Research on artists
- Opportunity to attend Natcoll courses in video, animation and web design may be offered.
ASSESSMENT
24 Level 2 credits possible (internal assessments)
COST
$40 (art pack, group resources, photocopying, basic materials and a wide range of digital media). Print credit must be maintained. Supplementary materials required during the year; amount varies up to $50. Inkjet print-making is an additional cost (up to $35)
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Successful completion of this course gives students entry to 301 i-Create. This course can lead to many design and fine arts related industries eg Photographic, Printing, Interior, Fashion, Graphic and Web. Students considering studying Fine Arts at Canterbury University must enrol in two of the following courses: 201 Art Design, 201 i-Create, 201 Painting - see Mr Soltero for more information.
