GEOGRAPHY 31F (Full Year) - GEO31F

PRE-REQUISITES
English credits at Level 2 are desirable. Geography at Year 11 or 12 recommended. Students taking Geography for the first time need to see the Teacher in Charge before being granted entry.
CONTENT
This course is an advanced level of Geography where students are encouraged to research information in depth. Students take part in field studies in Kaikoura and Christchurch researching the natural environment. Issues at a local and global level are analysed. Students study a cultural process and use skills to interpret maps and visual data.
ASSESSMENT
All assessments are Achievement Standards with the opportunity to gain 11 Internal and 12 External credits.
COST
Christchurch beaches field trip $10.00. Geographic Studies text $20.00
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
University studies as a Science, Resource Management or Arts subject and can lead to careers in Tourism, Urban Planning, GIS specialist, Transport management, Environment management, Marketing and Real Estate, just to name a few.
