PRE-REQUISITES
Students should have taken either Level 2 Food and Nutrition 201, Health 201 or Catering 202.
CONTENT
Students will develop knowledge and skills in:
- Food Safety
- Selecting, preparing, cooking and serving food.
- Current New Zealand nutrition issues
- Influences of media messages on food choices
- Special dietary requirements
- Altered food needs
ASSESSMENT
20 Level 3 credits - External and internal assessment apply.
COST
$85.00 plus camp fees of approximately $100.00
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Tertiary study at Polytechnic or University in Human Nutrition and Dietetics, Sports Nutrition, Food Science, Health Sciences.
