TEACHER IN CHARGE: Ms McConnel
11F Food and Nutrition would be an advantage but not essential
Students will analyse issues related to the provision of food for people with specific food needs. The beliefs, attitudes and practices relating to nutritional issues for New Zealand families will be explored. Food choices and eating patterns will be examined for external assessment purposes. Students can expect to participate in practical food experiences once a week.
18 Level 2 credits are available through 4 achievement standards. 8 credits from external assessment.
Further food studies in either Food & Nutrition 31F or Hospitality 32F. Numerous tertiary providers, including universities, offer courses which follow on from the basic knowledge gained from this course.
