PRE-REQUISITES
None, although success in DTI21S is good preparation for this course. Independent work habits are an essential requirement for this course.
CONTENT
This course develops valuable computer programming skills and hardware knowledge, which are sought after in the computing industry. Programming skills will be used to solve problems and develop and refine solutions. This course caters for novice to advance. The course is broken down into the following sections:
- Project Planning and Management
- Database Design and Development
- Writing programs - using a variety of programming languages, authentic projects
- GUI - graphical user interface design
- Student centred learning is a feature of this course
ASSESSMENT
Level 3, Unit/Achievement Standards.
COST
$15.00 for print credit (minimum)prior to the commencement of the course.
4Gb Memory stick is recommended.
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Tertiary study in Computer Science. Skills developed flow into many different fields, including Commerce.
