PRE-REQUISITES
An Achieved in Science 1.5 will ensure entry to this course and a total of 14 credits or more in Science is preferred.

CONTENT
This course is designed to use relevant examples (from margarine to bleach to dry-cleaning to cheap jewellery) to illustrate the nature of the materials that make up our world and their interactions with each other. The course provides a sound basis for further study in Chemistry.

ASSESSMENT
Total 23 Level 2 credits
Assessment is a mixture of Internal and External Achievement Standards.

FURTHER POSSIBILITIES
Chemistry at Year 12 is necessary for study at Year 13 and a wide range of tertiary studies including engineering and health sciences.
