HOSPITALITY - Cafe Culture 32F (Full Year) - HOC32F

CONTENT
This course has a focus on Cafe style food and coffee knowledge and preparation. Students develop their skills and knowledge through the preparation of food suitable for sale and consumption in a cafe situation.
ASSESSMENT
Students must have the Hygiene Standard 167 to allow further assessment. This may have been achieved in previous year 12 courses. Student's gain a further 22 Level 3 credits whilst studying basic nutrition relevant to commercial situations, complex sanwhiches, hot and cold cocktail foods, basic pastry dishes and baking cakes, sponges and scones.
A further 8 Level 2 credits are available for students who wish to complete barista training available through the gateway programme.

FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Students who complete this course may choose to look for employment opportunities within the hospitality industry or further their education through tertiary providers such as CPIT, looking at chef training, bakery training etc.
