MATHEMATICS WITH CALCULUS 31F (Full Year) - CAL31F

PLEASE NOTE; This course requires a high level of results from Level 2 courses
PRE-REQUISITES
17 credits at Level 2 with at least two merits. Must include AS 2.6, 2.7, and 2.2. This is a demanding course and requires a high level of mathematical ability
CONTENT
The course continues the development of the main stream of mathematics, with particular emphasis on Calculus. Content also includes Algebra, Co-ordinate Geometry and Trigonometry. Opportunities are sought to reinforce basic techniques and to provide practice in problem solving and applications.
ASSESSMENT
Up to 24 Level 3 credits
Achievement Standards, both internally and externally assessed and some Unit Standards.
COST
Students must have a graphics calculator. These can be hired ($20 per year, limited numbers) or bought for $95 at the student office.
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
This course is intended for students with a major interest in the continued study of Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Economics and Engineering. A reasonable grade in this course may help ensure entry to a restricted university paper.
