PRE-REQUISITES
Background in nutrition is an advantage.
CONTENT
Complete a range of Level 2 Unit Standards, covering Hygiene, knife skills, vegetable and meat cookery and international cooking. The course enables students to:
- Develop the skills and knowledge of a junior chef
- Develop an awareness of food hygiene and food safety in a commercial environment
- Prepare and cook a range of foods every week to a professional standard
ASSESSMENT
14 Level 2 credits are available through Hospitality Standards Institute (H.S.I) unit standards. Along with this students have the opportunity to gain a further 5 credits whilst completing their first aid certificate. Each Unit has a written and practical component for assessment. All Units rely on the student passing the hygiene assessment.

$25.00 uniform,
$70.00 for ingredients
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
In year 13 two full year Hospitality courses are available. Students can choose to study either one or both of these courses. Full Time courses are also available at many local teriary providers such as CPIT.
