BUISINESS STUDIES 31F (Full Year) - BUS31F

PRE-REQUISITES
A background in Accounting and Economics is good preparation for this course. Maturity and the ability to be a part of a team is essential.
CONTENT
The aim of this course is to develop the knowledge and skills to run a small business. Students will work in small businesses throughout the year to compete in the Young Enterprise Scheme, a nationwide competition.
The course is broken down into the following sections:
- Forming a business
- Research and development and production
- Marketing mix and sales techniques
- Finances
ASSESSMENT
Young Enterprise Certificate. 24 Credit Equivalence at NCEA Level 3.
COST
$25 for the Examination, $15 registration fee and a possible investment into your business. If your business turns a profit at the end of the year, the money is split between the business shareholders.
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
A good background to pursue tertiary study in Business and the knowledge to set up and run a small business.
