ART HISTORY 31F (Full Year) - ARH31F

PRE-REQUISITES
Open entry but English language skills are essential. 21F Art History an advantage.
CONTENT
- Survey of Art and Artworks from the Renaissance through to the present
- Look at the major art periods, the cultures and time in which they occurred
- Focus on propaganda, theory, environment, media and techniques
- Discuss artistic ideas and cultural values
- Art Gallery visits and a variety of modern art films
ASSESSMENT
Approximately 17 Level 3 credits possible (all internally assessed). External assessment is optional.
COST
$20 (includes access to group resources, photocopying) Additional transportation costs to be advised.
FUTURE POSSIBILITIES
Related visual arts fields (eg Museum or Gallery management). Tertiary pathways include a wide range of courses eg Fine Arts, Philosophy. Tertiary Art History courses can complement degrees in Journalism, Marketing, Tourism, Law and Psychology.
