Gilbert O. Sigala | 1st learning reflection | Freedon to Learn | The video by Desmond Tutu on freedom to learn puts into perspentive the struggle for political freedom in S.Africa. However this freedom he says had social and political implication. Education to the people is a mojor social pillar. He says technology in the form of Digital world is a good platform that can be exploited to bring about social justice to the world. However a few have greedy individuals, companies/corporates have made it impossible for many to get maximum benefit from it. Therefore I hear him say that the war to free the digital world from hijackers must be won so that people can be freed through open licences to use this platform for creativity and innovations to develop new resources that are easily accessible and free. In doing this the quality of life of poor majority will improve in measures that are unparalled.
Are you really free if you can't get education? |
