In this tutorial we will look at how you can insert media into a page on the wiki.
There will be times when you may want to illustrate something that a picture can not. Adding audio, simulations, presentations into the wiki is a great way to enrich your pages and create a compelling learning experience.
We focus on adding Flash simulations (.swf files), audio (.mp3 files), and Kaltura collaborative videos to your content in this tutorial. If you have not worked through the inserting images tutorial now would be a good time.
Currently WikiEducator supports adding the following types of media:
- Links to specific file types, currently .swf, .pdf, .flv, .odt, .mp3, .odp, .ods files and .elp (eXe files)
In the following pages we will work through the process of adding an these media types and give you opportunities to try it out for yourself on your user page. (You do have a User page by now don't you? If you don't, see: Creating an Account).
The first media type we will discuss is the flash media with the .swf extension.
