About Us
Radio Maendeleo is a Community Radio based in Ndori shopping centre in Nyanza province, Kenya. This station was started when there was a great need by the community to have a voice of their own to air their views.
The station operates under the umbrella of Maendeleo community multimedia group. The station was started in 2006 with funding support from UNESCO (to buy equipment". "Maendeleo" is a Swahili word that means development. We began full operation on 30th july 2007.
We broadcast 90% local language (Swahili) and English (10%).We cover a population of about 650 000. We air different programmes HIV\AIDS being one of the programs.
