Summary 5. Employment, Education and Entertainment

Work, School, Recreation and Leisure - Computers and technology are having a significant impact on work and the workplace.

We have had great discussions and explored resources related to the current trend in Employment, Education and Entertainment. Thanks for sharing your experiences and observations. Lots of good resources to review. Here are some of the important ideas to think about and follow up.

Online learning - Do you have to learn alone online? Probably not. You now have some experience with discussions and groups online. There can be a lively interpersonal learning environment. This may be the trend so the course material is online and individual, with lots of opportunity to discuss and share.

Questions about group work - Several of you have asked about group work. The activities are described in detail in modules 10-12. These are all available for you to access if you are interested. You will be communicating and sharing ideas with your group. Most of the actual work is individual work.

References to resources - Many discussions include a research requirement and require a link to a resource in your response. If you are replying to others, you may include a link to a resource to share. For these, a response that is just a personal opinion is interesting but incomplete.

Late work - Late work is accepted for credit but deductions may apply. If you are contributing to a discussion, your reseach and comments are helping you but others in the course are unlikely to benefit from your work.
