For many years, the Ministry of Education as been deliverin distance learning to schools throughout T&T via its School Broadcasting and Education Television Units.

ESTABLISHMENT

In June 2004, the Distance Education Unit was established with a mandate to deliver a wide range of academic, vocational, professional, enrichment and ICT type programmes to national via a blend of conventionl teaching methods and new and emerging technologies.

VIRUTAL UNIVERSITY

Today, the unity is engaged in a number of landmark national and international initiatives such as the Fast forward SxhoolNet project, Virtual Universtiy for Small States of the Commonwealthe (VUSSC), and the National Open School of Trinidad and Tobago (NOSTT).
