Besides my academic responsibilities, I spend a lot of time working on innovations in teaching Botany including designing experiments which can be done with minimum facilities. I am very fond of photography, especially close-ups of plants and flowers.
WikiEducator has given me many friends & a whole lot of students at the global level. I would like to help everyone who believes in open education for all. Hi Everyone.  My name is Joyce McKnight and I am from the rural part of New York State in the United States.   I am an Associate Professor with Empire State College (and am proud to have been one of those who encouraged Empire State to become the first US member of the OER-u).   I have recently completed a seven year project (a comprehensive textbook on community organizing...unfortunately begun before I knew there was such a thing as OER) and am now hoping to have more time to devote to the OER-u and wikieducator...project one is to revamp my user page and find a way to make a number of my community organizing and other human services essays available.   Even after nearly eleven years as an online educator I can get lost in technology so please have patience with me.
Re: Hello Joyce, thanks for joining. We are happy to have you here an look forward from your rich experiences. Your contributions to OERu and WikiEducator are very significant and sure our participants will be benefitted by your presence. With best wishes, --R C Sharma, PhD 03:36, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

Valerie Taylor

Hello everyone. My name is Valerie Taylor. I volunteer with several organizations that work with youth and educators to promote STEM education. We want kids everywhere to have the opportunity to learn about Engineering - the E in Engineering. Very few educators have the background or the time to include Engineering in their regular curriculum. By providing interesting stories and engaging activities online, kids can explore Engineering on their own. Educators can facilitate inquiry-based learning, encouraging kids to ask questions that interest them, find the answers and create online reports as blog posts and wiki stories to share with others in their class and around the world.

Solomon Island Youth of the Ministry of Women, Youth, Children and Family Affairs - Welcome to you all. I would like to offer my assistance to you and your projects. Please think about how I can help and we can "talk" about it during the eL4C54 course. --Valerie Taylor 10:45, 26 June 2013 (UTC)

Ash T

Dear All,

Greetings to all & Hope you are doing great. Sorry for coming bit late on this page. I am pretty excited to learn and see how to create a page and learning environment on WIKI. This WIKI page has helped me a lot actually while I was researching. I regard WIKI as a brilliant platform where several people making it simple and easy to understand define complex terms. A platform, which caters to mass, once posted it, will serve to many. It is a great tool to educate masses.

As I write a bit of Intro, I have many apprehensions coming to my IT & Management mind, that I am sure will be cleared as we progress in the course (I wonder how to change the text colour and grant authority and accesses in stages ... etc etc ... ). See Me Here  (clicked for WIKIEDU Student Session, lolz

I wish everyone a happy learning and Good Luck on Learning!
Thanks & Regards ☺

Ash

Susan Dixon

Aloha to Everyone! My name is Susan Dixon and I live in Hawaii. I am new to OER, Wiki, and a whole host of other techy things. I find this page overwhelming. You might say I suffer from TDD, Technology Disadvantaged Disorder. I would add a smiley face here but I fear it would mess up the code.
Re: Aloha Susan! What a wonderful co-incidence... you know... Wiki is a Hawaiian word.. meaning quick quick... donot worry, in wiki nothing goes wrong (well, in a way), so donot worry about getting the code messed up. Things can be set right. So please go ahead and try!! With best wishes, --R C Sharma, PhD 19:24, 27 June 2013 (UTC)
Thank you Dr. Sharma for the WIKI trivia. I did not know what WIKI meant. I am actually a transplant from Illinois, U.S.A. but have lived here in Hawaii for close to twenty years.
