Good morning, Susan,
This morning I checked out your user page - great stuff. It almost makes me want to return to the halloed walls of academia to pursue an ed degree. Well, almost. I am not sure that I am quite ready to leave the surf and sun of West Africa in favour of a cool, crisp, Calgary winter of studies.
I would be curious to know if there are ways in which we could link with U of C for projects that might come up here. I am quite eager to find teachers (either students of education or retired/soon-to-be-retired) who might be interested in developing and/or implementing a training program for day care providers in Ghana. My wife and I have an ideal "test plot" for such a project in my wife's home town. We have built a building to accommodate a day care centre site. Now we need to provide some training for the day care providers in order that the centre does not just become another glorified baby sitting situation.
I will continue to watch your User Page and see how your course is unfolding. Best wishes,
Nana
Thanks for your generous comment ... enjoy that warm surf and sun ... Fall is coming .. fast.
Re linkages ... U of C Fac of Ed is totally open to things like this ... ironically, we are currently hosting 2 colleagues from Aga Khan University in Dar es Salem ... and are working on establishing linkages / partnerships with them!
So, let's keep the channels open ... we also ahve a Teaching Across Borders program in which we place our student teachers in various locations around the world for their final semester of our BEd program ...
