Welcome to Wikieducator

Hi - welcome to Wikieductor. I see that you're an experienced Wikipedian with a great set of skills.

Have just started a project to develop a set of Tutorials for Mediawiki Newbies - The idea is to widen Wiki editing skills - particularly for the developing world.

Any suggestions for improving the resources are always welcome. I'm planning to start a learn4content project whereby the Commonwealth of Learning sponsors skilled Media wiki users to present the Newbie tutorials virtually to cohort groups of 20 teachers/educators in the developing world. In return for the "free" training participants agree to develop a content lesson on the wiki.

My vision is to have a free version of the entire education curriculum by 2005! Should be doable <smile>.

I think that this could serve all projects using Mediawiki software. Chat to you soon. --Mackiwg 00:08, 19 December 2006 (CET)

OLPC and free content

OLPC is a great project and we need to find innovative ways of refining the potential of Mediawiki for these applications.

A first step is to think about an integrated pdf export for mediawiki - at least we can then get free content to remote locations without connectivity or OLPCs.

Has the OLPC thought about authoring tools? You might want to have a look at http://exelearning.org.
