  • 2018.2.27 * Anything robotics is always a hit. Burns has some robots and circuits kits - were they demonstrated when you were there. Using those and expanding on them would be interesting. Anything you liked as a kid - interesting girls is often more challenging. Maybe look into wearable circuits and electronics. Just a few preliminary thoughts. I'll be at Burns on Thursday, so we can work on virtual brainstorming.

2018.2.22 * 2x/week

  • spatial visualization * Ms. Zahn has the bag of big LEGO blocks for this. Kids in 6-8 grade may already have access to the isometric dot paper on their iPads - Ms. Floyd put it on for me. They may be able to draw on the "paper" - we tried it and it works pretty well for some kids. A stylus helps. * 3D drawing – Access the isometric dot paper or here on your iPad. * Compare the LEGO stack with the isometric and footprint drawings. Draw these on your iPad. * Rotation – Look at the structure from a different side. Rotate the structure. Turn it over and view it from the bottom. Look down from the top. Draw the isometric diagrams for all SIX views. * Create your own block structure. Draw the footprint and the isometric views for 2 different views of your structure. Swap with someone else and draw these views for this structure.
