- innovative outreach techniques
- develop outreach events or programs for high school students in grades 9-12? What do you include to guarantee that the event positively impacts a high school student's perception and awareness of STEM careers?
Andrea
- This past year, Space Coast SWE incorporated new workshops on cutting edge areas of technology such as 3D/Additive Printing, CryoScience, and Bio-Nano-Scaffolding with easy to understand, highly entertaining/engaging hands-on activities for middle and high school aged girls
- These workshops were developed in partnership with local innovative STEM companies and universities, thus enabling high school aged girls to network with budding start-up tech company and college professionals – truly in sync with career guidance
- These workshops also harbored a number of STEM college graduate students – ensuring these young women had a chance to network and ask questions of individuals with secondary education careers in STEM related research fields
Curiosity, Passion, and Making a Difference
