SCORE Startup Roadmap Workshop - now in progress. https://scorevf.moodlecloud.com

A Step-by-Step, How-To Guide for Starting a Business

The Startup Roadmap outlines each step in starting a business with information and resources on the main tasks. It also contains tips for working with your SCORE mentor on each topic. We will be adding live interactive sessions to the online discussions and work documents together with a like-minded motivated group of entrepreneurs. Over the next several weeks, you will be guided through the steps to starting a business.

Get off to a quick start. Meet the others in this workshop group. Do the 1-page business plan activity that will serve as the baseline for all the learning and work that will come your way in the next few weeks.

The Business Model Canvas is a one-page document that uses a visual chart covering the nine building blocks below to show how your business plans to make money. Although the Business Model Canvas covers all the same areas as a traditional business plan, it is more concise. This allows you to iterate many different business models and test them quickly.

Go over some of the basics of what being in business will mean for you personally. Discover or refresh your understanding of what it means to be an entrepreneur - key business considerations, such as the myths and realities of entrepreneurship, different business options to pursue, the components of business ownership, legal and financial considerations, and the business plan basics.

Please tell us how you are doing. Post a short note about your progress in the Forum.

If you have questions or need assistance, please ask - email valerie.taylor@scorevlunteer.org.

Looking forward to working with you.
