2021.8 Volusia Flagler national partners local organizations
..
Hello from the Space Coast Chapter of the American Red Cross.
The xx and the America Red Cross have a nation partnering relationship. We would like to get to know your representatives in the community here in Florida.
I am contacting you, the xx as the local representatives of the xx organization to set up an introductory meeting.
The meeting would be an opportunity for you to learn about our local organizations and work in the community as well as get to know some of the people involved. We will share information about our local resources as well as information about our national mission and programs.
As COVID is still active, we would be happy to meet remotely via Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Please pick a couple of dates and times in the next week or so that would be convenient for you to meet. We can make the necessary arrangements for the meeting.
If you have questions please let me know.
We look forward to working together to forward our organizational goals and understand the work you do here in Florida's Space Coast.
..
Review the list to identify local presence for any national partners Make contact, and ask for an introductory meeting After the initial meeting: schedule time for reciprocal presentations (ARC to partner, Partner to ARC) The goal is to establish local relationships with at least four organizations

Introduction . We are going to learn about how to PREPARE for an emergency. . Emergency: Something that happens suddenly without warning where you need help right away . Which of these is the most common emergency? . Home fires . Hurricanes . Tornadoes . Flooding . Forest fires . These are all emergencies in some areas. Home fires are the most common emergency everywhere.
Home fires . Home fires are the most common emergency that can happen to you, your family or your friends.
Prepare .Prepare means to get ready. . You get ready when you wear a rain coat or bring an umbrella to school on rainy days. You prepare for the next day of school by doing your homework. . You get ready for sports games or recitals by going to practice and listening to the coaches or taking music lessons and listening to the music teacher. . There are things we can do to get ready in case there is a fire. . Have you done any of these to prepare for a fire? . Had a fire drill at school . Tested the smoke alarm at your home . None of these
Fire drills . In a fire drill at school, teachers and students get to practice what to do in a case there is a real fire. The school has a plan so that everyone knows what they are to do and where to go to be safe. . It is important have a plan and practice fire drills at home too. Every home should also have a smoke alarm to alert you to smoke or fire.
Smoke alarm test . Beep. Beep. Beep. A smoke alarm will make a loud beeping sound if there is smoke in the air nearby. . For some, it is continuous beeping. Others will beep 3 times, then pause, then beep 3 times. . This is an important warning. You and your family must get outside to safety immediately. That is why you need a plan. . In order to be sure that the smoke alarm will work when there is a fire, it is important to test the smoke alarm regularly. Checking it every month is best.
Make a plan . Now you need a plan. . Get a smoke alarm and ensure that is is installed correctly. . Next, check the smoke alarm every month.
