SAMR * Substitution Engineering is direct topic substitute with no further explanation, in reading math problems examples * Augmentation Engineering is direct topic substitute, point out and describe engineering involved * Modification Engineering allows for significant task redesign, encourage exploration research alternate deliverable product * Redefinition Engineering allows for creation of new task, previously inconceivable, start with engineering include core class skills lessons to support

2108.1.4 nancy futurelearn These courses are effective. I like the format, duration, and subject overage. 4 weeks is about optimal - enough time to get engaged, can catch up if you get behind, time to reflect, lots of interesting people from all over the world participate,... Mostly text, some links, some short videos, supporting articles. Good return for time spent. Easy to manage - skimming 30-80 comments usually gets several really interesting ideas.

2107.12.26 Common elements of STEM learning include * Design-focus: using design tools and techniques to attack big problems or opportunity (challenge-based, problem-based learning). * Active application: applying knowledge and skills to real-world situations and constructing or prototyping solutions to challenges (maker, project-based learning). * Integration: real world problems aren’t limited to a discipline—solutions almost always draw from many fields.
