Is there any interest in having online studios if they could work to your satisfaction? Would the program attract more students if it was entirely online? Are there students who only take the online courses who can't / don't take the in-person studio courses?
How many credit / contact hours are in a studio course? How often do you meet? How long are each session?
Does anyone offer condensed in-person studio courses? Week long residential intensive, for example?
What percentage of the students in your studio courses are not native English speakers?
If the objective is to get more work-ready registered architects, providing anytime anywhere access to the entire program goes a long way in today's world. I think it is doable. Although the structure might be different, the outcomes would be the same. The online format requires a lot of student responsibility for their learning, resourcefulness and time management - things you want them to have in the end. Online learning makes us as educators think about how to support students with technology to achieve the outcomes necessary to successfully practice architecture throughout their careers.
