My Profile

My name is Kanguma Jeffrey.I am a male Zambian. I am the first born in the family of four with two sisters and a brother. I live in Northmead.

Workplace

I am a teacher of Natural Sciences at Lusaka High School-GRZ. It is 'common knowledge' that there so many fields in NS that are offered in the Zambian schools. These include the following:

  1. Mathematics
  2. Geography
  3. Physics
  4. Chemistry
  5. Biology etc

There is no teacher who can teach all these subjects single handedly. My area of specialisation are the following subjects:

  • Physics
  • Chemistry
  • Biology

However i am only teaching Physics and Chemistry because the department has adequate staff.

My Passion

As a teacher of Science, I have a passion for Scientific Research and Discoveries. I am highly involved in JETS activities in schools. JETS stands for Junior Engineers Technicians and Scientists. This is a club that helps pupils to be innovative, curious and productive in science. I also have a passion in reading about things that have something to do with new scientific discoveries both at home and abroad.

Why I Joined the Workshop

Firstly, as a lover of scientific discoveries, I came to the workshop with a view of enhancing my interaction with men, women and children with a similar passion. Secondly, I believe that after this workshop, I will be able to share my knowledge with those that are more 'academically informed' than I am thereby improving and broadening my knowledge base. Thirdly, through this workshop, I will be able to assist pupils enrich their academic skills by reading some handouts and worksheets that I intend to develop. These are some of the many reasons why I came to this workshop.

Conclusion

It is my sincere hope that the knowledge I shall acquire from this workshop will improve the following both as an individual and as a family of scholars. :

  • appreciate and respect the academic body of knowledge that exists
  • develop a sense of oneness academically
  • have a hunger for more knowledge
  • develop worksheets that will make other people access knowledge easily etc.
I THANK YOU
