I have completed my BSc in Biomedical Science majoring in Neuroscience at the University of Auckland. I wish to begin a career in Neuroscience research and take my studies to the post-doctoral level. Next year I will complete a post-graduate diploma in Neurophysiology.
I am conducting a biomedical research project within the field of developmental neurobiology alongside Malisha Hettiarachchi and under supervision by Fabiana Kubke. The project will take place within the department of Anatomy and Radiology at the University of Auckland. It is to be completed by Feb'11.
Reason for using WikiEducator
My research team will be completing the WikiEducator course to further our understanding of the source codes required to construct Wiki pages. We in particular wish to use the Wiki site 'OpenWetWare' as a lab notebook. OpenWetWare does not allow for rich editing and hence a firm understanding of the coding required is essential.
I personally will be adding educational resouces to WikiEducator for students and teachers to use, as a contributing member of the community. Please see my contributions below.
Reason for using OpenWetWare
OpenWetWare will be used by my research team as a comprehensive, auto-archiving, electronic lab notebook. The software will allow effortless record keeping, tracking of the contributions of each member/work ethic and instant communication between supervisor and students allowing questions to be answered from anywhere in the world (from a smart-phone) and a direct understanding of the query.
By signing this optional learning contract I will try to complete my training in basic wiki editing skills to achieve the status of a Wikibuddy. In return for this free training opportunity, I will give the gift of knowledge by donating or developing at least one free content resource licensed under a CC-BY-SA or CC-BY license which can be used by myself (and others) on WikiEducator.
