Ms. Caroline Achieng Odera is the Coordinator of the Lake Victoria Tour Guides Association(LVTOGA), a community based organization that promotes Ecotourism and other nature based enterprises as alternative livelihoods for the conservation of the Lake Victoria natural resources.
My Professional Interest
Ms. Achieng has a professional background in Business Management with specific focus on Nature Based Entreprises and other trainings on Project Management,Participatory Rural Appraisal(PRA), NGO Management, Ornithology and Ecotourism development. She has vast experience in Environmental Education, Biodiversity Research and Monitoring and Community Mobilization. She is an Alumni member of Earthcorp a Non profit organization in Seattle, WA and Ferry Beach Ecology school, Saco, Maine USA.
About My Organization
The Lake Victoria Tour Guides Association's objectives include;
- To help promote ecotourism around the Lake region through Bird watching, Boat riding, Nature walks and educational lectures.
- To help marketing ecotourism sites around the entire Lake region.
- To enhance networking of the local tour guides/operators in the region.
- To enhance ecotourism services around the region through professional and standardized tour guiding.
