Mary and Audrey at D2L Fusion Chicago

Professional background

I'm an Instructional Designer at a Community College just north of Nashville, TN. I'm originally from Chicago, IL and spent my first career in Hotel Food and Beverage Operations Management. In my job, I have the chance to work with faculty, play with new technology and also teach students about the hospitality industry. I'm also the systems administrator for our online course management system and our virtual classroom.

I have a B.A in History from DePaul University in Chicago and a MS in Education from CalState East Bay (formerly Hayword).

My interests

My professional interests include: new media (wiki's, blogs, Facebook, Twitter) and how to incorporate these elements into teaching and learning, exploring new applications, accessibility issues and all things Apple.

My personal interests and hobbies include: Rubber stamping, reading, and supporting my son in his pursuit to become a great tennis player. I enjoy traveling and have been to almost every state in the U.S and I'm planning to travel the world when I get a little wiser! I've also been a homeschooling parent for many years. My daughter is on her own now and my son is entering his junior year of high school while taking concurrent classes at the community college.

My wiki projects

My optional community service (learning contract) project

100px-L4C-small.png  Agreement
By signing this optional learning contract I will try to complete my training in basic wiki editing skills to achieve the status of a Wikibuddy. In return for this free training opportunity, I will give the gift of knowledge by donating or developing at least one free content resource licensed under a CC-BY-SA or CC-BY license which can be used by myself (and others) on WikiEducator.
