Term end examinations
Term End Examinations in IGNOU are held twice every year. There is a month long schedule of examinations every June and every December. Every learner must ensure that he/she is eligible to take the examinations and that his/her registration status is valid. Exams are conducted at the exam centres which are usually regular study centres of the University. However sometimes other centres may be identified as exam centres by the Regional Centres. The datesheet is uploaded on the IGNOU website well in advance and also displayed on the Notice Boards of the Regional Centre and Study Centre offices. This enables learners to plan for the exams and also apply for leave from their place of work. If they are travelling frequently and know where they will be during exam time, they can also take the exam in any exam centre in the country, provided they have filled up the exam centre in the exam form correctly.
Learners are required to fill up an exam form well in advance. The exam form must be filled online and submitted. An exam fee @ Rs.150/- for each course must be paid by credit or debit card. Take care to fill the form correctly and make sure that you have submitted the assignment responses for each course/paper, to your study centre before you fill and submit the exam form.
It is mandatory to submit assignments before taking the term end examination. A learner will not be issued the admit card to appear for the term end exam if s/he has not submitted the assignments for the course/s for which s/he would like to take the exams.
Check your hall tickets on the IGNOU Website about a week to 10 days before the exams commence, you may download and print the hall tickets to appear for the examinations. You MUST have your Identity card without which you will not be permitted to appear for the exam.
Many learners like to have a look at old examination question papers. They may like to solve the questions therein and also like to get an idea of the type of questions that are set for the papers.
