There are a lot of fantastic places near Sydney to go camping.

• Wollondilly River

Last Easter, we camped at the bush camping ground along the Wollondilly River.  A great place for swimming, canoeing and relaxing by the campfire.  It is in the Southern Highlands about 3 hours from Sydney, including the very windy and slow trip down to the river from Berrima.

• The Basin

This is actually in Sydney, so easier for a weekend of camping.  It is a very enjoyable trip across to The Basin Campground on a ferry from Palm Beach.  You can also hike or bikeground down to the campground.
