THE ROLE OF A TEACHER
I think that most learning we do can be done independently by a learner with a partner who may also be a learner. This frees the teacher up for working with learners to monitor and record their process, and to assist with staying on task. I see the teacher as a provider of resources, and of links to resources. As a teacher, I need to be aware of learning difficulties so that I can supply or improve learning activities.
As a planner, I need to find or supply enough resources for learners to progress at manageable levels, to ensure that learners are able to set and meet their goals, and to encourage them to record where they have been and where they are going.
