Introduction

My name is Roderick Hewitt. I am a senior lecturer and Academic Leader in the School of Religion, Philosophy and Classics at the University of Kwa Zulu Natal, Pietermaritzburg, South Africa. I am responsibility for the Theology and Ethic Cluster. I give post graduate supervision to 3 Honours, 3 Masters and 10 PhD students. It is my expectation that at least four will graduate 2012.

My core interests are:

• Gospel and culture,
• Religion and Politics
• African Theologies in the Diaspora
• Missiology

I lecture in Ecumenical Theology, Contemporary Trends in Theology and Practical Theology

I have worked as an Executive Secretary for Education in Mission with the Council for World Mission, London (1986-1996) Moderator for the Council for World Mission (2003-2006)
