Professional background

I am Allanah King, a New Zealand primary school teacher, teaching at a small rural school. For 2008 I took a year’s leave to work as an ICT Facilitator helping teachers at 14 schools based in Motueka. In 2009 I went back teaching Year Four and Five students at Appleby School, near Nelson, New Zealand.

Now in 2010 I am teaching one day a week and helping teachers make the most of ultra fast broadband

My interests

I have just started learning how to play the ukulele. With one lesson under my belt I can play a few basic chords. I have joined Plinkers- a fun ukulele group of about 30 keen strummers who get together on a Sunday night and enjoy a sing song.

I am a self taught ICT type who every day learns new things from my network and realises just how little I know.

I will finish paying for my house when I am 81!

My optional community service (learning contract) project
