Learning Contract for Alison Ruth

I will complete my training in basic wiki editing skills and commit to achieving the status of a Wikibuddy according to the skills specification in Annexure A. I will complete all the learning activities designed to support my learning and agree to allocate 8(+) hours in total to my learning efforts.

WikiEducator will provide free access to self-study tutorials. Furthermore, the WikiEducator community will support my learning through a series of online training workshops and online forums to answer any questions I may have on my journey to becoming a Wikibuddy.

In return for this free training opportunity, I will share some of my knowledge by developing at least one free content resource licensed under a CC-BY-SA or CC-BY license which can be used by myself (and others) on WikiEducator. I will develop a learning resource (between 30 and 60 minutes of student educator learning time) in the subject or topic of my choice. I am planning to develop:

One of the things I am currently involved in is curriculum mapping at tertiary level for a whole degree program. For that I am developing a few tools/templates for mapping outcomes against activities as well as some Rubrics. I think these would be useful at all levels, particularly for communicating with outside bodies for accreditation purposes and for open design of course materials, if that makes sense. Much of what I've developed has been remixed from other sources (mostly open sources on the web).

So, in essence, I will develop a page for rubrics (and curriculum mapping activities), with some (simple) tools that can help communicate learning outcomes to stakeholders.

This page will give both qualitative and quantitative examples of rubrics that can be used for different purposes. The rubric process will include ways of breaking down complex tasks into manageable items for both teachers to assess and students to achieve.
