About Myself I am Dr. Agnelo Menezes, (aka: aggie). I am an Associate Profesor in Economics. Educational qualification I secured the B.A. Degree in Economics through St. Xavier's College, Mumbai in 1978 and the M.A. Degree in Economics through Mumbai University in 1981. I was conferred the PhD Degree in 2009, under the supervision of Dr. Swapna Banerjee-Guha (Professor, Development Studies, TISS). In my thesis I studied the contribution of rag pickers in Mumbai through the informal economy in the recycling sector. My other interests Besides teaching in the college i am actively involved in social work as I desire to make Economics meaningful for the lowest class-rung of society.
