Tip for improving the page header for sub-pages

Jump to: navigation, search

Hi,

The Math pages are coming along nicely --- I like the idea of the glossary :-)

I see that you're using sub-pages to structure content -- great!!!

We have cool template feature in WE to improve the usability of the page header displayed to the user. Long urls can be confusing for the reader.

If you have a page displaying:

Big cats/Tigers/White tigers

You can shorten the display title of the header using this template:

{{MyTitle|White tigers}} on the page www.wikieducator.org/Big Cats/Tigers/White tigers

This template will display the page header "White tigers" rather than the long ugly title :-)

See for example:

MathGloss/A

and

MathGloss/A/Acute_Angle

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Hi Wayne, Thank you for your message. I celebrate you like this project. I guess you mean shorten each title. You are right, this will be my next step. Cheers Gladys

No worries --

Just a little tip so you can keep using your sub-page structure -- but improving the usability display for the user.

Cheers
