Hi Boingotlo,

A wiki is a web site that is generally editable by anyone with a computer, a web browser, and an internet connection. Wikis use a quick and easy syntax to allow users to apply formatting to text and create links between pages. This simple formating syntax means that authors no longer need to learn the complexities of HTML to create content on the web.

The workshop facilitator will guide you to learn basic wiki syntax. Don't worry it is very easy. After that you can observe other pages on WikiEducator and experiment them on your My Sandbox page (that is your practice page)

And also you may refer Wikieducator online tutorial at http://www.wikieducator.org/Wikieducator_Tutorials and http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Help:Editing

Now about your query on how to communicate with other WikiEducators. You can use the discussion page of the user pages in the same way you have written on this discussion page. That is the ideal choice. Some user pages will be having email Ids in the info box on the user pages. And also you can use the Email this user link that can be seen at the left side menu towards the bottom when you are at a user page. But this will work only if the user has provided a valid email id while creating an account on wikieducator.
