Thanks for sharing your interesting course design ideas. As I mentioned to Grian, both of you inspired me to come up with a course design idea of my own. When I started the ds4oer course, as an instructional designer, I was focused on learning the technical aspects of open wiki course delivery. It was not in my mind to create my own new course.
I was struck by the emphasis on empathy in both your course and in Grian's course. That helped me generate my idea for a course on Intercultural Team Learning - in which empathy is also a critical ability. Thanks for that.
Thinking about learning outcomes in your course, I imagine that students will have opportunities to develop their own personal capacity for empathy skills in all their thinking about it's role in various aspects of literature – and maybe especially when they share their own work with fellow learners. It might be worth adding that as a learning outcome in its own right.
I spotted a few minor typos when I was reading your course description and edited them. If you mind, I won't do it again. But if you spot typos in my docs, please feel free to edit them and let me know.
