under Category:OER called OER Foundation to include all OERF related pages.

Thoughts?

Makes sense to me.

OK, done. I put the category listing in the navigator, so it automatically populates new pages that include the OER nav template (something I learned from Jesse). Also, I added some relevant text in the header at Category:OER Foundation.

Thanks Alison --

The only disadvantage with using the category insertion in the template (particularly with structured learning materials) is that sub-pages are included, where it may be preferable to restrict the category to the main landing page. In the case of OERF -- I think this is O.

However, in the case of structured learning material we may do the auto categorisation with a OER metadata template in the future.

I guess my thinking was to put all of the subpages into the category. Where it would be inappropriate to have the subpages in Category:OER, it seems right to have them in Category:OER Foundation. However, including the category in the navigator doesn't work if one or more of the subpages is a project unto itself and a sub-category of the main project would be useful to collect all of these pages.

But I agree that structured learning material may be a different animal. Auto-categorising with the OER metadata template is definitely the way to go. I'll add it as a topic on the category guidelines page we're planning so it gets into our thinking.
