Recommend adding a taster quiz
I share hesitations about MCQ but a few possible advantages are some form of feedback for those who take the course on a more independent study basis and don't have the USQ structure to support them. Also there is some advantage in prepping for challenge exams in other institutions that may wish to use that mechanism to award credit. Alternatively others can edit it to suit their own needs I assume.

Yes -- the art of constructing meaningful MCQs to support learning requires considerable effort and good design skills.
That said, the activity cited as one of the most meaningful learning activities of the OCL4Ed course, is the Copyright case study, an MCQ based activity designed for formative assessment.
Notwithstanding the challenges of objective item assessment -- I think this approach can add considerable value to scalable learning support because learners receive immediate feedback.
