Naming the modules

Jump to: navigation, search

At our Skype conference (see meeting notes) we decided to put the content modules in the main space of the wiki. I have added some proposed home page names for each of these modules, including an intro section for the course which would be in the subpages under the main Art Appreciation and Techniques page.

Some notes about the suggested titles:

  • I left off the subtitles (the words after the colon in the saylor version). We can add these words to the title which displays on the page.
  • I added the word art to a title when the title in the saylor version was not clear that the content would be related to art.
  • I used the capitalization convention: only the first word in the title is capitalized, with the exception being if the name includes the name of a thing that would normally be capitalised when writing about it.

Thoughts on the titles?

Alison I think these titles are fine. One thing I have noticed in this course is substnatial uneven weighting and length among the modules. I don't see necessarily structuring the course into a typical semesterly time frame but when it's mostly done at least in its first draft, I'd like to have a content expert review to see how well the content balances out. That may imply a little reorganization down the road but within the wiki environment that should be pretty easy--Irwin DeVries 05:41, 11 July 2012 (UTC)

Irwin,

Yes, I've noticed how some of the modules are much shorter than the others. Agreed that it will be easier to evaluate once the first draft has been created, and reorganizing as needed from there is not a problem at all.

I'll get started creating the pages structures and navigators.
