Activity for Workshop EL4C37
I've seen your user page am fascinated. I shall try to add some colour too. Summer is the time for lovely bright colours. There are beautiful "bahawa" like yellow grapes and gulmohur and jacaranda and so many other trees in full bloom. Did you get to see "Flowers of the Sahyadri" by Shrikant Ingalhallikar? He is an amateur botanist but quite a professional. An engineer basically. (Kalpana Gupte 05:09, 3 May 2010 (UTC))
Yes Kalpana I have a copy of this beautiful book. Have you seen Trees of Delhi by Pradip Krishen? A lovely book.
Sorry that i could not reply. No I haven't seen the book. It must be interesting. I shall try to lay my hands on a copy. Why do people plant varieties which are foreign? I had recently visited the Lotus Temple in Delhi and the heat was unbearable. Why do they have lawns which are so hard to maintain? Where is the water? Why not plant varieties of our own large shade giving trees, like Neem etc? --Kalpana Gupte 14:17, 11 May 2010 (UTC)
