About linking to pages/picture downloading

i have tried to link my page to other pages in relation to HIV/AIDS, but i just don't know what the problem was. is it because i have not yet registered with the Wikieducator community or what! this i really cannot tell. all the links i have tried to connect are just red in colour instead of blue. i also tried to download a picture from the flickr.com but the picture took me to another page entirely.
