Discussion about the process for creating multimedia.
Note: The multimedia guidelines page was developed a while ago to start to identify possible requirements, issues etc.
What are the possible requirements?
- creating a static (e.g. screenshot) graphic for the wiki which will be viewed in the wiki/in print form
- creating a static graphic which will be accessed in e-learning (e.g. CD/LMS/Website)
- creating an animation for the wiki which will be viewed in the wiki
- creating an animation for the wiki which will be accessed in e-learning (e.g. CD/LMS/Website)
- creating an interactive animation/simulation (flash) for the wiki which will be viewed in the wiki
- creating an interactive animation/simulation (flash)which will be accessed in e-learning (e.g. CD/LMS/Website)
- creating a video or audio for the wiki which will be viewed/listened to in the wiki
- creating a video or audio which will be viewed/listened to in e-learning (e.g. CD/LMS/Website)
Storyboarding/scripting templates
Media storyboard
- Name ((copy)wiki page name + graphic name)
- Description of the requirement (see above)
- Expected delivery mode (e.g. print only, e-learning online only, e-learning offline only etc.)
- Explanation of the learner experience expected (interaction)
- Visual description
- Position of the item; on screen or on paper
- alt, height, and width attributes for every image.
- alt text caption
- Format required (if needed)
- Metadata
Priority ranking?
Scripting template
For all media items - video, audio, animation etc.
Note: This can be the actual text that will be used inside of a media item where the media engine is separated out from the text (XML). So the flash move will use the XML at runtime.
This can also be a .TXT file.

Do we need a placeholder to identify media which will not sit in the wiki, but will be developed for external delivery?
