Recommendation 27 Licensing arrangements for software, including the use of open-source
From WikiEducator
Recommendation 27. We recommend that the Government review licensing arrangements for software, so that students have equity of access in schools and in homes, including the use of open-source software.
Comment: All software for general use should be available under open source or school-specific licensing. It is noted that Google provides educational use free (Microsoft for reduced cost) and this trend will continue through other suppiers.
Negotiation should allow the software on school tablets to be available at home provided the student is logged in through the school domain name.--Ian Mitchell FIITP 23:44, 22 January 2013 (UTC)
