Overview of e-learning | The Distance Education Centre (UWIDEC) is responsible for DE in all sixteen (16) English-speaking territories of the West Indies that UWI serves. These territories are Anguilla, Antigua & Barbuda, Bahamas, Barbados, Belize, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Dominica, Grenada, Jamaica, Montserrat, St. Kitts and Nevis, St. Lucia, St.Vincent and The Grenadines,Trinidad and Tobago and the Turks and Caicos Islands. UWIDEC uses “blended learning” as the delivery model (viz., a blend of print, online resources and e-tutorials, CD-Roms, audio-conferencing and face-to-face) and Moodle as its Learning Management System.
Some Cave Hill Campus course lecturers are using e-learning to supplement to their face-to-face teaching. Mainly they use WebCT as their Learning Management System. |
