Pakistan has been a culturally rich country with beautiful mountains, people and lakes. It has all 4 seasons, lovely people, hospitable people and a lot of opportunities. People like Quaid-e-Azam, Allama Iqbal, Dr. Abdus Salam, Mehboob ul Haq and Zulfiqar Bhutto who gained world wide fame come from Pakistan. For years it has maintained a name in Squash, Hockey and Snooker.

Later, when the British arrived in Pakistan, English education was popularized with the help of the European missionaries. Thereafter, Western education has made steady improvement in the country.

Now Pakistan has lots of universities and thousands of colleges affiliated to them. Pakistan has scores of colleges in every discipline and has positioned itself comfortably as a country that provides quality higher education to its people in specific and to the world in general.

However, because of so many factors, the expense for education (especially professional education) has gone up to very high levels and poor families find it very difficult to send their children for higher and professional education. Hence, the free and open curriculum of WikiEducator becomes important.

A node for Qualification Framework

The Pakistan Node has taken part in Qualification Framework Movement at National Level and World Level, following the WE objective of developing National Curricula.

It is a very difficult task to set standards for curricula as knowledge is changing day by day, and now the education curricula are highly depended on place and accessibility factors. Country specific variations are required in the studies on Agriculture, History, Literature and some Vocational subjects.
