The aims of the meeting are to: Develop proposals for action to transition the OERu international collaboration from the initial prototypes to a sustainable and scalable program of OERu study Formally launch the OERu to the world Identify and plan the prototypes required of our next phase of incremental design.

Meeting design and principles of engagement

Design principles

This is not a conference -- it is an open implementation planning meeting which will change the lives of students currently excluded from the formal post-secondary education sector worldwide. The meeting agenda is based on the following principles: Build on our OERu decisions, work done to date and inputs from the OERu 13.09 SCoPE planning seminar. Anchor partners have decision-making autonomy on the agenda and implementation decisions. Focus on decisions for the OERu action plan - hence the emphasis on shifting from the 2012/1013 prototyping phase to sustainable and scalable implementation. Identify strategic issues for the medium and long term - but avoid the temptation of trying to solve all problems at this meeting. Keep presentations and monologues to a minimum. Avoid unnecessary affirmations or agreements with previous speakers. Contribute when you have something new to add, want to clarify a previous point or table an alternative view or idea.

Session 3: Strategic issues and related decisions

Objectives

The objectives of this session are to: Develop a proposal for action to achieve a fiscally sustainable and scalable network Develop proposal(s) for action on the OERu program of study including: Integration of open textbooks (Textbook Zero) into the OERu model. Establishment of programme curriculum management group and related terms of reference. Institutional leadership and operations loop, including proposals for consideration by the OERu Council of Chief Executive Officers.

Speed geek session on OERu prototypes	Aim: The aim of the session is for all participants to quickly view five presentations in selected OERu prototypes with the ability for small group Q&A. The participants are randomly assigned into five small groups. The group will rotate sequentially through 5 speed geek stations. Each station will provide a 5 minute presentation followed by a 5 minute question and answer session. When the bell sounds, groups move to the next station.
