Project tasks

The aim of this project is to complete the Otago Polytechnic approval processes to offer assessment-only services for designated OERu courses to issue transcript credit for the CertHE in Business (OERu) to be conferred by the University of the Highlands and Islands (UHI). Most of the micro-courses would qualify for Edubits micro-credentials. Otago Polytechnic is aiming to confirm an "agreement in principle" for signing the OERu Credit Transfer and Articulation Agreement with UHI as an assessing OERu partner for the approved courses by 15 May 2017. Consequently, this project is aiming to complete phase 1 by 10 May 2017. Phase 2 involves the development of the summative assessments and related moderation processes which we aim to complete by June 2017 or sooner.

Phase 1: Prepare documents for Academic Board at Otago Polytechnic

This phase comprises the preparation of the approval documentation for the Quality Approvals Committee and Academic Board at Otago Polytechnic. The following documents are required:

  1. Course outline for new short course (AcQual 114): To be completed for each micro-course
  2. Course summary (AcQual 105): To be completed for each OERu full-course so that Otago Polytechnic can issue transcript credit for articulation into the CertHE in Business (for both 12 Credit and 16 Credit options).

Phase 2: Develop summative assessments

  1. Develop summative assessments for each micro course aligned with the short course and course summary approvals for Academic Board above (Consultants or designated OP staff).
  2. Develop corresponding assessment rubrics using the approved grading schemes (Consultants or designated OP staff).
  3. Complete pre-assessment and moderation approval for Edubits (OP responsibility)
  4. Refine the assessments if required.
